Conventional stainless cookware is buffed to a shine with polishing compounds, fine abrasive grit held in wax or grease. Traces can stay on the surface, which is why most new pans come with a reminder to wash before first use. Stenny skips abrasive buffing entirely. Wipe it. Nothing comes off.

What's the black residue some new pans leave on a paper towel?
Many stainless pans are buffed with abrasive polishing compounds, and traces can remain on the surface. Stenny is finished by electropolishing instead, so there is nothing to wipe off.
Do I need to scrub my Stenny before the first use?
No scrubbing needed. A light wash with mild dish soap is all it takes.
Living with Stenny
Will it work on my cooktop?
Yes. The 5-ply body has a magnetic 439 stainless base and works on all heat sources, including induction.
How do I keep it shining?
For water spots, mix equal parts water and white vinegar, let it sit for 10 minutes, then rinse.
